Writing this sentence feels like a lie… but, I’m 20 years
old young today. How did this time pass by so quickly? It seems like yesterday when I would go on bike rides with my childhood neighbors, lugging a wagon behind us that was harnessed by a worn out rope. A sharp turn here and there, and in a blink of an eye, we would be sprawled over the cement, bruises and bloody scrapes included.
From Polly Pockets, to 400 page textbooks, and from hot chocolate (with millions of mini marshmallows – the best part) to glasses of rich, red wine, here I am. My hopes of becoming a matured, inspiring and loving young adult are still alive, hoping to harness me into the real world.
I’m not having a big celebration today (I’ve never been that kind of person), but my family will probably share a cake before I go to work. Yes, I work on my birthday, and it’s a closing shift, so how exciting is that? I mean, I can watch the X-Factor, so that’s pretty cool. However, I will be celebrating on Sunday and sharing that with you all next week.
Do you like big birthday celebrations? Or, are you more low key?
